PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Pet Valu, a specialty retailer of pet products, with a store in Sidney, has announced that June 30 is the deadline for submission of photos for the firm’s 2017 custom pet calendar.

Pet Valu will accept pet photo submissions through its website, www.petvalu.com. Only 13 photos will be chosen for the 2017 calendar via online voting. Voting will take place on Pet Valu’s Facebook page July 8-15. Customers will be notified if their pet’s photo has been chosen.

From December 2015 to March 2016, Pet Valu donated all proceeds from the sale of its custom pet calendar featuring photos of customers’ pets to 19 animal rescues and humane societies across the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Nearly 25,000 calendars were sold and more than $124,300 was raised for charity. Each calendar sold for $5.

“It’s a fun contest for our customers,” said Joe Dent, vice president and U.S. general manager of Pet Valu. “The funds we raise go toward helping animals while giving our customers’ pets a shot at fame at the same time.”
