SIDNEY — U.S. Bank, through the U.S. Bank Foundation, has awarded a $5,000 grant to Raise the Roof for the Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to operating the Historic Sidney Theatre for cultural, artistic and educational purposes benefiting the Shelby County community and region.

U.S. Bank’s community investment platform is centered on Work, Home and Play. By focusing on Work, Home and Play, U.S. Bank’s philanthropic and volunteer efforts can have a greater impact on the building blocks of thriving communities, which include stable employment opportunities, a home to call one’s own, and a community connected through culture, recreation and play.

“We are pleased to be able to support our community and local arts groups through this contribution,” said Kim Doak, U.S. Bank branch manager.

U.S. Bank makes Play possible by investing the bank’s financial resources in community programming that supports ways for children and adults to play and create in venues across the country.

“This grant will help fund the renovations needed to bring the Historic Sidney Theatre back to its original roots, as a first class facility in which to experience the arts and a gathering place for the Shelby County community,” said Sarah Barr, Raise the Roof for the Arts executive director. “We greatly appreciate the generosity of community partners such as U.S. Bank who are instrumental in the success of the Historic Sidney Theatre project.”

Raise the Roof for the Arts is a charitable nonprofit organization established in 2009. Their mission is to renovate and operate the Historic Sidney Theatre for cultural, artistic and educational experiences that benefit the Shelby County community.
