Dickman Supply earns honors throughout year

SIDNEY — The year 2016 started and ended with a bang for Dickman Supply, with plenty of excitement in between.

As one of the area’s leading distributors of electrical and industrial products, the company started the year off with the announcement of a brand new 15,000 square foot facility in Marysville that opened in mid-June.

“Seeing an opportunity to expand our footprint in West Central Ohio, we entered the Marysville market back in 2014 but quickly outgrew our facility due to the area’s demand for our products,” said Tim Geise, president and owner of Dickman Supply. “The additional space and resources help maximize our capabilities and take our service of the Marysville area to a whole new level.”

Shortly after the groundbreaking, Dayton Power & Light named Dickman Supply a Channel Partner Top Performer for their efforts in converting customers in the DP&L territory to LED lighting technology. The company processed over $300,000 in rebate incentives and saved customers over 4,300,000 kilowatt hours of energy. It was Dickman Supply’s 5th consecutive year earning the accolade.

The new facility and Top Performer award was just the start, however. Dickman Supply continued their long history of success in 2016 with steady sales numbers from the Sidney and Greenville branches, while Celina and Marysville enjoyed a jump in sales from 2015.

IMARK, a member-owned marketing group comprised of over 900 independent electrical distributors, identified Dickman Supply as the top mid-sized distributor for their effective implementation of marketing and training programs and exemplary support of IMARK preferred suppliers.

“It was an honor to be named IMARK Member of the Year,” said Brent Palser, the new vice president of sales for Dickman. “We take pride in being able to offer our customers quality products at great prices, and being a committed member of IMARK allows us to do just that. With just four locations, we can offer the selection of a national chain with the superior service of a local business.”

Despite the company’s long history of success, Geise knows it is important to adapt to customer demands to ensure long-term sustainability. With that mindset, the company launched a new Dickman Inventory Solutions division in 2016 that manages a customer’s stocked inventory. By allowing Dickman Supply to help manage their inventory, the customer can benefit from decreased stock-outs, lower personnel costs, and an overall simplified process that frees up both time and money.

Along with the addition of their Inventory Solutions division, the company added an automation and control specialist in 2016 to keep up with current customer demand and grow the category. “It is vital in this business to listen to your customer’s needs,” said Geise. “While we are already a strong competitor in the automation & control industry, we needed to allocate more resources to the category to keep up with customer demand. We expect to grow significantly in this category in 2017.

“We are very thankful for the commitment and support our employees and local businesses, and look forward to building off a successful 2016 year.”
