MINSTER — H .A. Dorsten Inc., of Minster, was awarded a prestigious award in April at the 2017 Excellence in Construction Awards dinner in Cincinnati.

The firm received an Award of Excellence, which is the highest honor, for the presentation of the Komminsk Legacy Park in New Bremen.

This project was a whimsical but cohesive park plan to develop 3.4 acres of hillside land between the Lock Keeper’s House and Crown Pavilion, for an interactive art park.

Features include an embankment concrete slide; splash pad; sun-shade structure; hillside seating; lion sculptures and other art sculptures; musical playground instruments; and a pump house.

Komminsk Legacy Park is named after its primary benefactor, Dianne Komminsk, whose love of art and her community helped create the vision for the project.
