90 years: Winner’s Meats continues family tradition

OSGOOD — “In retrospect, 2017 was a good year for Winner’s Meats; all three of our locations and our livestock hauling division are thriving,” said President Brian Winner. “In 2017 we increased our staff, purchased new production equipment, added multiple new third party retailers and expanded our online and social media presence.”

His report continues:

As 2018 begins, we are turning our focus to our yearlong 90th anniversary celebration! We have multiple promotions planned for 2018 beginning in February with a raffle for a soft-sided cooler filled with $90 worth of pork products, then a grill give way for Father’s Day in June and opportunities to enter a drawing to win a 5 cubic foot freezer in October. Other pricing specials at Winner’s Meats this year will include a sale on our famous marinated pork chops in April, our yearly brat sale in June and our 60th annual fruit sale in August.

Established in 1928, Robert Winner Sons has continued the work of producing quality meat products for nearly a century. Our founder, Robert began processing beef and pork in his barn for neighbors and friends. The three generations of Winners that have followed Robert continue to strive to maintain a trust with their customers and always produce a quality product. We’re often asked about the longevity of our success and I believes it’s as simple and timeless as our approach to producing fresh, quality meat.

You have to work long, hard and have dedication to the family business; that’s what it takes to succeed. We work right beside our employees, whether it is cutting meat or scraping the floor, if that’s what needs to be done. Our philosophy of hard-work extends from the harvest room floor, to the fields, the barns and to the corner office, with all employees expected to do their part regardless of their last name.

As the company carries on the proud family tradition, Winner’s is increasingly turning to social media to spread the word about their award-winning products and engage with the company’s expanding customer base. The effort is being led by Winner’s up-and-coming fourth-generation owners, whose level of comfort with technology and social media will be a boost to the company moving forward. We are reworking our website and have added the convenience of online ordering which allows us to ship our award winning and homemade products all over the country. Additionally we are looking to expand the number of retail stores and local restaurants carrying our products.

For almost a century Winner’s Meats has made a generational commitment to our community and we expect to continue that legacy. As we celebrate our 90th anniversary in 2018, we invite the community to connect with us through email, or social media to stay informed on anniversary pricing specials, prize raffles and gift with purchase giveaways.
