Kat’s Canine Corner continues growth

FORT LORAMIE — Kat’s Canine Corner saw continued growth in 2017.

According to owner Kathryn Burks, her business welcomed many new clients in 2017. The day to day operation at Kat’s Canine Corner remained the same with high quality, pet friendly grooming. Due to increased business and a larger clientele, Karol Paulus works with Burks 2 or 3 days a week.

Her report continues

Both Paulus andI have a long history of grooming, training, and showing dogs. We have groomed dogs that were shown at the renowned Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in Madison Square Gardens in New York. Burks first started raising and showing Shih-Tzus while Paulus first showed a Doberman Pinscher. After decades in the show circuit, both now own and show Briards. Paulus has been inducted into the Briard Hall of Fame three times due to her success at obedience shows.

When they train people’s pets in obedience techniques, they tackle the common problems of dogs: barking, chewing on furniture, jumping on people, etc. We teach students to work with their own dogs to correct specific problems. The goal is to help the owner teach their pet to be better behaved and a welcome companion.

Kat’s Canine Corner has offered obedience classes since the business first came to Fort Loramie. The five week basic obedience classes will continue in 2018. This year, customers can take advantage of private one-on-one training sessions with Paulus. Kat’s Canine Corner, located at 50 E. Elm St., is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. For information or an appointment, call 937-726-3088.
