SIDNEY — The year 2017 has been an exciting one of excellence at AAA Shelby County.

“By following AAA’s philosophy of giving exceptional customer service, we stand above our competition,” said Deborah Barga, CEO of AAA Shelby County. “Notably, AAA Shelby County was voted the No. 1 travel agency by the readers of the Sidney Daily News. We are honored to hold this title and appreciate the confidence the readers place in our travel agency.”

Her report continues:

Our continued success in the travel industry is due in large to the 84 years of combined travel experience of our four committed travel consultants. In 2017 they were recognized with a president’s award from Vacation Express, one of our travel resources. The President’s Club is an elite group of travel professionals recognized by Vacation Express for outstanding service and productivity. To achieve membership in the President’s Club, an agency must have a minimum number of traveled passengers in the previous calendar year.

In March, AAA Shelby County was awarded the AAA Association Strategic Award as the Member’s First Choice for Travel Agency Services. Marshall Doney, AAA President and Chief Executive Office said, “The winner of this award exemplifies significant progress with the association’s goal to provide differentiated travel services to motivate and enhance travel transactions. Their Club’s diligent effort in enhancing and maintaining member value helps to establish AAA’s long-term member relevance.”

Membership also experienced a notable year with a very successful membership campaign. The results were an overall membership growth coupled with an impressive 92.4% membership renewal rate.

AAA is nationally recognized for emergency road service. AAA Shelby County was consistently ranked the leader in the association for overall member satisfaction last year. Benchmarks utilized for the scoring included response time, satisfaction with the provider and call taker. This was achieved through the combine efforts of the AAA staff and AAA Shelby County Emergency Service providers, Elmer’s Towing, Rose’s Towing & Recovery, Meyer’s Towing, Brian’s Towing and Mantor’s Towing. Our team, along with these service providers, pride themselves on offering a high level of customer satisfaction.

In 2017 AAA Shelby County realized significant growth locally with the new insurance agency. Members of AAA, along with non-members, were able to take advantage of the money-saving options available for auto, home, life, medicare supplement and pet insurance.

We’re pleased to be able to offer insurance locally to our members because AAA Insurance provides another money-saving avenue by offering members a discount on their insurance policies.

Driver’s Education remains a core facet of the Shelby County Driving School (a division of AAA). In 2017, 396 student drivers received their education-either written, behind the wheel or both-with us. We continue to see more students opting for on-line education as an alternate to the classroom instruction.

AAA Shelby County, a locally operated Club within the AAA association, provides nearly 15,000 members with travel, insurance, driver education, as well as financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1922, AAA Shelby County has been a leading advocate for safety and security of all travelers. Visit AAA at www.AAA.com.
