SIDNEY — The Shelby County County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-vehicle crash Friday.

According to Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart, Codie Scholl, 21, of Piqua, was traveling in the 3000 block of River Road near Sidney at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Scholl, who was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM, was southbound when he failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

He was trapped in his vehicle for about 45 minutes. Sidney Fire and Rescue extricated Scholl from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

He was transported to Wilson Health and then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
