Police log

THURSDAY

-7:47 p.m.: prohibited standing or parking places. Robert Benshoff II, 43, 815 Riverside Drive., was served with two summonses for parking violations.

-2:43 p.m.: theft. Vincent Risner, 50, 122 W. Clay St., reported someone entered his vehicle and took several tools and fishing poles. Risner advised each tool had a white dot on the end.

-1:18 p.m.: contempt. Police arrested Jerome Swinger, 64, 1117 Morris Ave., on a warrant and transported him to the Shelby County Jail.

-10:40 a.m.: breaking and entering. North Ohio Coins, Stamps, and Sports Cards reported someone had entered the business overnight. The case is under investigation.

WEDNESDAY

-4:03 p.m.: theft. A 17-year-old was verbally served charges for theft from Walmart.

Accident

Marjorie Kite, 67, 9984 State Route 235 North, Quincy, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after an accident on Thursday at 5:28 p.m.

Kite was traveling eastbound in the right lane of travel in the 300 block of West Russell Road when she did not realize the vehicle in front of her was stopped and collided with the rear of it.

The driver of the other vehicle was Elizabeth Blandzinski, 31, 824 1/2 S. Main Ave. She was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital by Sidney EMS for possible injuries.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-6:47 a.m.: Crews responded to the 200 block of East Russell Road for a fire alarm.

THURSDAY

-7:37 to 11:21 p.m.: Medics responded to four calls.

-5:30 p.m.: Crews responded to Russell Road at Wapakoneta Avenue for an accident with injuries.

-11:37 a.m.: Crews responded to the 100 block of West Poplar Street for smoke on the third floor from burnt food. It was ventilated.

-9:37 a.m.: Medics responded to a call.
