TUESDAY

-10:23 p.m.: theft. Leeann Roesser, 1491 E. Court St., Apt. A, reported $60 was stolen from her residence.

-8:53 p.m.: criminal damaging and violating protection order. Joseph W. Masteller reported his vehicle’s tires were slashed near Buffalo Wild Wings, 2080 Michigan St. Loss was $150.

-8:07 p.m.: theft. Janet Scully, of Plymouth, Maine, reported a UPS package and a Fedex package, valued at $607, were taken from 315 S. Ohio Ave.

-1:35 p.m.: theft. Shirley Terry, 115 W. South St., reported her purse, medication and other items, valued at $24, were stolen at Walmart.

-1:24 p.m.: theft. Haleigh Thompson, 120 E. Clay St., reported leggings and a coat, valued at $40, were stolen from her residence.

-12:28 p.m.: theft. Jordyn Hall, 504 Sycamore Ave., reported her cell phone, valued at $300, was stolen from her coat in the breakroom at Mama Rosa’s Pizza, 1910 Faoir Road.

-10:31 a.m.: theft. Sherie Goninan, 760 E. Parkwood St., reported a GPS unit, XM radio, sunglasses and memory cards, valued at $920, were stolen from her vehicle at her residence.

-9:32 a.m.: vehicle trespass and theft. Someone entered the vehicles of David Leistner, 744 E. Parkwood St., and Elizabeth Fortman, of Lewis Center, at the Parkwood Street address and stole $20 in change.

-9:07 a.m.: contempt. Police arrested Harley Obermeyer, 20, 208 Grove St., on a warrant.

-6:52 a.m.: theft. Lawrence Holloway, 2320 Wells Drive, reported a wristwatch, valued at $150, and $1 worth of Christmas candy were stolen from his vehicle at his residence.

-4:22 a.m.: criminal damaging. Aunt Millie’s Bakery, 1900 Progress Way, reported the front field of the business was damaged. Loss was $1,000.

MONDAY

-4:45 p.m.: theft. William Heckler, 555 Gearhart Road, reported two people took his bicycle, valued at $30, from 400 Fair Road.

Accidents

A driver veered to miss a deer and his car hit a pole Sunday at 4:56 p.m.

Michael Olivieri, 49, 1118 Port Jefferson Road, told police he was westbound on Russell Road and turned left onto Vandemark Road. There was a deer in the roadway. Olivieri swerved to miss it and his auto hit a pole. car

• Ronald Ashworth, 26, 1129 Hilltop Ave., Apt. F, was cited with having an unattended vehicle after an accident Tuesday at 11:14 a.m.

Ashworth car was parked on the street at 504 N. Main Ave. and his car slipped out of gear. It rolled backward and hit the parked pickup truck of Ronald Farley, 57, 715 S. Miami Ave.

• Jordan R. Elmore, 21, 740 Spruce Ave., was cited with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Tuesday at 2:56 p.m.

Elmore was waiting to turn left from the Burger King parking lot onto Vandemark Road. He told police the traffic stopped and a driver waved him out. He said he did not see a car that was northbound on Vandemark. He pulled out and hit a car driven by Richard L. Stackonis, 46, 761 Campbell Road. A passenger in the Stackonis auto, Penny L. Stackonis, 47, same address, had possible injuries. The Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services took her to Wilson Memorial Hospital. Elmore also had possible injuries, but was not transported.

Fire, rescue

WEDNESDAY

-12:04 to 8:13 a.m.: Medics responded to two calls.

TUESDAY

-10:42 p.m.: smoke detector. Firefighters were called to 1170 Westwood Drive, where a smoke detector was sounding. Firefighters determined it was caused by a low battery.

-9:29 a.m. to 8:31 p.m.: Medics responded to nine calls.

-5:23 p.m.: possible gas leak. Firefighters were called to 702 S. Main Ave. to investigate a possible gas leak. They did not find any problem.

-8:30 a.m.: car in ditch. Medics were called to Fourth Avenue and Michigan Street, where a car was in a ditch. No one was injured.

-7:30 a.m.: carbon monoxide. Firefighters were called to 632 Folkerth Ave., Lot 9, where a carbon monoxide detector was sounding. Firefighters did not detect carbon monoxide.
