Police log

THURSDAY

-5:37 p.m.: theft. Jessica Zekas, 40, and Katherine Turbeville, 23, both of 2805 Wapakoneta Ave., Lot 32, were arrested for theft, after Walmart on Michigan Street reported the theft of $50 worth of miscellaneous merchandise. The items were later recovered.

-4:46 p.m.: contempt. Heather Whetstone, 43, of Piqua, was arrested on a contempt warrant.

-4:20 p.m.: unruly juvenile. A 14-year-old male was arrested for being unruly after he was reported not to have returned home after school.

-12:17 p.m.: identity theft. An identity theft was reported to the police.

-8:33 a.m.: theft. A Gygnus Freestyle DK bicycle, valued at $350, was reported stolen from 221 Forest St.

-7:17 a.m.: theft. The theft of black and multicolored wallet, containing an Ohio driver’s license, a Social Security card, A Minster State Bank debit card and three credit cards, was reported stolen from a female’s vehicle while parked in the 100 block of South Pomeroy Avenue.

Crashes

Charles E. Strayer, 64, of DeGraff, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after a two-vehicle crash on Friday at 5:36 a.m.

Strayer was traveling westbound in the right lane on Michigan Street and as he was attempting to go around a vehicle, that was stopped two vehicles ahead for an unknown reason, into the left lane he struck the vehicle in front of him that driven by Paulette D. Garrett, 53, 134 Oldham Ave. Garrett also had just moved into the left lane from the right lane to go around but then stopped next to the stopped vehicle in the right lane when it was rear-ended by Strayer.

• William E. White, 64, of Piqua, was cited with starting and backing after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at 11:06 a.m.

White was traveling eastbound in the right lane on Michigan Street when he passed the private drive of McDonald’s on Michigan Street. White began backing up westward when he struck an eastbound vehicle on Michigan Street that was driven by Terry L. Yoder 57, of Troy.

• Diana Burns, 61, 707 N. West Ave., was cited with right of way at private drive after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday at 12:29 p.m.

Burns was exiting the private, drive from the east, of an apartment building on North Wagner Avenue and was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Park Street when she failed to yield and struck the right front of the southbound vehicle on North Wagner Avenue that was driven by Blanche Hamblin, 72, 1364 N. Kuther Road.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-2:28 to 9:33 a.m.: medical. Medics responded to six calls.

THURSDAY

-9:48 p.m.: carbon monoxide. Firefighters conducted a carbon monoxide investigation.

-8:14 p.m.: crash. Medics responded to an automobile crash.

-7:02 p.m.: standby. Medics were on standby at a Lehman Catholic High School football game.

-2:29 p.m.: service call. Medics responded to assist an individual.

-10:46 a.m. to 9:02 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to four calls. On one call, assistance was not needed upon arrival.
