Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-11:33 p.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated a report at 3131 State Route 47 in Cynthian Township about checks lost in the mail.

-7:43 a.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies and Jackson Center Police investigated a complaint at the Sidney Middle School in Clinton Township.

-7:14 a.m.: tree down. Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Stillwater Road in Loramie Township on the report of a tree down.

-6:59 a.m.: property damage crash. Perry Port Salem and Deputies responded to the 5000 block of state Route 29 in Green Township on the report of a one-vehicle crash.

-2:4o a.m.: suspicious car. Deputies were dispatched to Speedway on East Main Street on the report a suspicious car was sitting next to the gas pumps for 30 minutes.

MONDAY

-5:10 p.m.: trespassing. Deputies were dispatched to 18657 Fledderjohn Road in Van Buren Township on the report of a trespassing.

-2:48 p.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated an scam complaint at 1372 S. Kuther Road in Clinton Township.

-2:07 p.m.: threats or harassment. Deputies responded to 108 W. Canal St. in Salem Township on the report of threats or harassment.

-10:14 a.m.: drugs. Deputies responded to the 18000 block of state Route 47 in Salem Township on the report of drug paraphernalia.

-9:26 a.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated a complaint that items were left by the prior tenants of 119 E. Main St. in Loramie Township.

-4:09 a.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated a complaint at Wilson Health on Michigan Street.

SUNDAY

-5:01 p.m.: vandalism. Deputies were dispatched to 10842 Mohawk Court in Washington Township on the report someone was shooting a BB gun at a camper on the property.

-4:14 p.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated a complaint at the Sheriff’s Office on Gearhart Road.

-2:37 p.m.: assault. William E. Barker, 15, of Houston, was arrested for assault, criminal damaging and charged with offenses involving underage persons after deputies investigated a reported incident at his former residence. Holes in a residence’s walls and a garage window were reported damaged. Also, a man at the residence was allegedly assaulted during a dispute at the residence.

Oct. 27

-9:37 p.m.: theft by deception. A Sidney man reported being scammed out of $300 over Facebook. He told deputies he received a Facebook message from a female friend on Facebook with a link stating he won $100,000. The man clicked the link and began chatting with a person who told him he won the money, and needed to send a picture of his face while holding his driver’s license next to him. The person then told him to purchase a pre-paid iTunes gift card in the amount of $300 and send a picture of the card and numbers on the back for insurance purposes.

The man got the card and sent the picture before learning from a family member it was a scam.

The man’s female friend on Facebook informed him her account had been hacked.

Crashes

No one was cited following a one-vehicle crash on Tuesday at 6:59 a.m.

Bryce Alan Mills, 19, of Fletcher, was traveling northbound on state Route 29 when he started to slide when negotiating a left curve. His vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway and struck a previously broken utility pole, then rolled onto its top before coming to a stop.

Mills was transported by Perry Port Salem Rescue to Wilson Health.

• Joseph Edward Frey, 17, of Fort Loramie, was transported to the hospital after a one-vehicle crash on Sunday at 1:40 a.m.

Frey was traveling northbound in the 7000 block of Short Road when he struck a deer that came onto the roadway, lost control of his vehicle, then went off the left side of the roadway into the ditch and over turned multiple times.

Frey was transported by Fort Loramie Rescue to Wilson Health.

He was also cited for not wearing a seat belt.

• No one was cited after a one-vehicle crash on Thursday at 8:10 p.m.

Jacob Le Marvin, 21, 18415 Miami Shelby Road East, Sidney, was traveling southbound on Wiles Road when he struck a fallen tree on the roadway.

Marvin’s red 2006 Jeep Liberty sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-7:23 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Fire responded to the 400 block of East Main Street in Anna.

-12:10 a.m.: fire. Botkins Fire responded to Auglaize County on the report a telephone pole was on fire.

MONDAY

-8:13 p.m.: fire. Jackson Center, Van Buren Township, Maplewood, Port Jefferson and Quincy Fire Departments and Perry Port Salem Rescue responded to Logan County on the report of a fire.

-5:19 p.m.: fire. Perry Port Salem Rescue and Port Jefferson Fire Department responded to 18288 Herring Road in Salem on the report of a general fire alarm.

-11:26 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Van Buren Township Fire responded to the 8900 block of state Route 274 in Van Buren Township.

-10:02 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue responded to the 5700 block of Houston Road in Loramie Township.

-7:45 a.m.: crash with injuries. Perry Port Salem Rescue, Port Jefferson Fire Department and Deputies responded to the 5000 block of state Route 29 in Green Township.

-6:43 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue responded to the 5000 block of Johnston Slagle Road in Perry Township.
