Police log


-3:10 a.m.: criminal trespass. Police responded to a criminal trespassing alarm at Bonnyconnellan Castle bed and breakfast on North Walnut Avenue.

-1:54 a.m.: warrant. John D. Castle, 51 , 314 N. Ohio Ave., was arrested on an out of county warrant.


-3:16 p.m.: theft. Cashland on Michigan Street reported the past theft of a Green Lee knockout tool set, valued at $300. The tool set was recovered.


Gene Evers, 64, of Maria Stein, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at 12:49 p.m.

Evers was stopped behind the vehicle driven by Tiffany Rowland, 50, of Anna, which was stopped at a traffic light on Poplar Street at Main Avenue facing the east. Evers pulled forward by not paying attention, according to the police report, and struck the rear of Rowland’s vehicle.

-6:10 p.m.: assist. Crews responded to assist an individual.

-4:53 p.m.: lines down. Firefighters responded a downed lines report.

-12:51 a.m. to 11:56 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to eight calls.
