Bond set in theft case

SIDNEY — Bond was set in a theft case by Judge Duane Goettemoeller Friday morning in Sidney Municipal Court.

Goettemoeller set a $5,000 cash surety bond for Brian Edwards, address unknown, who is charged with theft, a fourth-degree felony. He is also charged with two counts of theft, both first-degree misdeameanors, criminal damaging and criminal trespass.

According to Sidney Police Chief Will Balling, Edwards allegedly took a 545.05 M1 from a vehicle. Edwards was arrested by Sidney Police Thursday at noon at the Montogomery County Jail.

Goettemoeller continued Edwards’s case until a public defender can be appointed. His next court appearance is set for Jan. 20 at 9 a.m.

At presstime Friday, Edwards was still being held at the Shelby County Jail.
