MONDAY

-11:19 p.m.: theft. Police arrested Matthew Overbey, 41, 318 S. Wilkinson Ave., on a theft charge. He allegedly stole a fishing reel and cologne, valued at $70, from Walmart.

-9:27 p.m.: burglary. Angel Hess, 728 Clinton Ave., reported a burglary at her residence.

-4:40 p.m.: contempt. Police arrested Nicolai B. Crumpler, 41, 11571 State Route 362, Minster, on a warrant.

-3:33 p.m.: unruly juvenile. Police responded to a residence and arrested a girl for being unruly.

-3:03 p.m.: possessing criminal tools. During a traffic stop at Lane Street and Main Avenue, police found a syringe and spoon.

-11:50 p.m.: receiving stolen property and possession of drugs. Ashley Foreman, of Fairborn, reported the theft of medication.

-10 a.m.: warrant. Police arrested Lindsay B. Haynes, 28, of Arcanum, on warrants from Montgomery County.

-2:51 a.m.: assault. Police arrested Verlin Powers Jr., 57, 10444 Museum Trail, Lockington, on an assault charge. He allegedly assaulted Michelle Dubose, 10439 Seminole Trail, Lockington, at 314 N. West Ave.

SUNDAY

-10:13 p.m.: criminal damaging. Leah Barrett, 1117 Hilltop Ave., Apt. B, reported her apartment window was broken out. Loss was $200.

-3:59 p.m.: warrant. Police arrested Jessica Jones, 32, 867 S. Ohio Ave., on a warrant from Champaign County.

-1:53 p.m.: theft. Loarn Holman, 600 Second Ave., reported someone entered vehicles at his residence and stole a gear shift and statue, valued at $2.

-9:53 a.m.: criminal damaging. Christopher Hammons, 333 Jefferson St., reported someone damaged the front windshield and two front tires on his vehicle at his residence. Loss was $550.

-12:46 a.m.: warrant. Police arrested Nicolette L. Haney, 34, of Piqua, on a warrant from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

SATURDAY

-11:24 p.m.: contempt. Police arrested Darrell E. Clark, 33, 5923 Hardin-Wapakoneta Road, on a warrant.

-9:24 p.m.: theft. Charles Anderson, 323 Franklin Ave., reported his 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, valued at $200, was stolen from 517 N. Miami Ave.

-8:42 p.m.: assault. Mandy Sharp, 809 Arrowhead Drive, reported someone assaulted her at her residence.

-6:13 p.m.: assault. A woman reported a juvenile assaulted her 12-year-old son.

-5:40 p.m.: possession of drugs. Police investigated a complaint at 407 S. Miami Ave. involving an empty heroin capsule.

-5:15 p.m.: drug abuse. Police issued a summons to Marcus L. Wagner, 19, of St. Marys, for drug abuse during a traffic stop on Interstate 75 near the 90 mile marker. He allegedly had a bag a marijuana.

-1:37 p.m.: criminal damaging. Three juveniles broke a window at 122 N. Miami Ave., ran away, and were apprehended. The owner of the property is Darrell Nichols, 1799 Riverside Drive. Loss was $300.

-12:19 p.m.: misuse of credit card. Stephen Carse, 309 E. Court St., reported someone misused his credit card numbers.

-11:48 a.m.: property found. A bicycle was found in the area of Fielding Road and Oldham Avenue.

-11:22 a.m.: theft. Sidney Foodtown reported an employee took a can of pop and did not pay for it.

-10:01 a.m.: warrant. Police arrested Amber D. Cotterman, 28, of Piqua, on a warrant.

-5:24 a.m.: vandalism. Police arrested Anthony Aikin, 29, at large, on a charge of vandalism. He allegedly damaged four doors and a luggage bench at the Holiday Inn Express. Loss was $300.

FRIDAY

-11:24 p.m.: warrant. Police arrested Aaron J. Oskowski, 37, 311 S. Ohio Ave., on a warrant from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

-7:04 p.m.: contempt. Police arrested Freddy L. Buss Jr., 27, at large, on contempt warrants.

-6:07 p.m.: possession of drugs and criminal tools. During a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Wilkinson Avenue, police found three suspected drug pipes. The investigation is continuing pending lab results.

Accidents

Lonnie Sowders, 29, 619 Highland Ave., was cited with driving under suspension after an accident Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Sowders was backing through the parking lot at 827 Arrowhead Drive and hit a car behind him driven by Michael J. Driscoll, 41, 827 Arrowhead Drive, Apt. B.

• Colleen M. Weidner, 50, of Troy, was cited with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Friday at 1:38 p.m.

Weidner was westbound on state Route 47 at the Interstate 75 ramp. She turned left and collided with an eastbound auto driven by Kurtis Krieger, 36, 2880 W. Millcreek Road.

• Kathryn Slife, 61, of Piqua, was cited with failure to maintain an assured clear distance after an accident Friday at 2:45 p.m.

Slife was southbound on Fourth Avenue and struck the rear of a car that was stopped southbound at a red traffic light at Fair Road. The driver of the other auto was Wesley Branscum, 28, 2341 Miami Conservancy Road.

• Ian L. Millhouse, 38, of Piqua, was cited with failure to control after an accident Sunday at 5:53 p.m.

Millhouse was backing southbound in an alley from 107 Hill St. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its top, coming to rest in the yard at 122 Brooklyn Ave.

• A vehicle damaged two mailboxes in a hit-skip crash reported Sunday at 5:52 p.m.

An auto was going northeast on Riverside Drive when the driver lost control. The vehicle hit a mailbox at 308 Riverside and continued to slide, hitting a mailbox at 316 Riverside. The vehicle — believed to be a tan SUV — then left the scene.

• Starlett Clement, 69, 830 E. Parkwood St., was cited with failure to maintain an assured clear distance after an accident Monday at 12:16 p.m.

Clement was westbound on Michigan Street and tried to stop, but her car slid on ice and hit the rear of an auto that was stopped in traffic at Fourth Avenue. The driver of the other auto was Ramona Diehl, 55, of Tipp City.

• Thomas D. Walton, 80, 224 N. Pomeroy Ave., was cited with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Monday at 6:31 p.m.

Walton was eastbound on Michigan Street near 1529 Michigan. He told police he was turning left into the Sidney Plaza and did not see a westbound auto. Walton’s pickup truck collided with a car driven by Johnathon Loper, 25, 2593 Township Road 247, DeGraff. Loper told police he had a possible knee injury. A passenger in the Loper auto, Jordan Pletcher, 19, 201 Kristy Ave., Anna, said he had a headache. Loper went to Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-4:52 to 7:56 a.m.: Medics responded to two calls.

MONDAY

-11:23 p.m.: transformer problem. Firefighters were called to 2400 Wapakoneta Ave. to deal with a transformer issue.

-2:52 a.m. to 8:46 p.m.: Medics responded to 15 calls.

SUNDAY

-7:53 a.m. to 11:04 p.m.: Medics responded to five calls.

-8:08 a.m.: accident. Firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 75 at the Miami/Shelby County line. One victim was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters.

SATURDAY

-12:35 a.m. to 11:19 p.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on nine runs with one call being canceled en route.

FRIDAY

-7:16 to 10:52 p.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on four runs.

-6:53 p.m.: fire alarm. Firefighters were dispatched to 2599 Michigan St. to confirm a false alarm.

-6:46 p.m.: fire alarm. Firefighters were dispatched to 1186 Gene Court to confirm a false alarm.

-4:35 p.m.: vehicle fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the 94 mile marker on I-75 for a vehicle fire.

-4:30 p.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on one run.

-1:38 p.m.: accident. Firefighters were dispatched to Michigan Street and I-75 for a motor vehicle accident.
