Crashes

No one was cited after a two-vehicle crash on private property on Thursday on 2:02 a.m.

David C. Martz, 59, of Lima, was traveling northbound in the Honda of America parking lot on Meranda Road when he failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and rear-ended the stopped vehicle in front of him in traffic.

The other vehicle was driven by Zachary Alan Hunsaker, 21, of Cridersville.

Martz’s tan 2014 Hyundai Accent sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Brian’s Towing.

Hunsaker’s maroon 2015 Ford F250 Series truck was able to be driven from the scene.

• Harry J. Myers, 33, of Beech Creek, Pennsylvania, was cited with failure to control after a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday at 11:28 p.m.

Myers was operating a semitrailer westbound in the 14,000 block of state Route 119 and when slowing down to make a right hand turn, his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, went through a ditch and hit an old concrete sign base. The collision caused the left diesel tank on his purple 2005 Peterbilt Motors truck to break open, causing fuel to leak into the ditch and parking lot. The truck then came to a stop in the ditch.

The truck owned by Myers Brothers Trucking was towed from the scene by Mayse Towing.
