• Grant Joseph Lowry, 16, of Anna, was cited with failure to control after a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday at 4:56 a.m.

Lowry was traveling westbound in the 14000 block of Southland Road when he went left of center in the opposite lane of travel and went off the south side of the roadway, struck a culvert off the south side of the road, then struck a ditch before coming to a final stop in a field off the south side of the road.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu that Cooper was driving traveled northbound in the 6000 block of Wright Putoff Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. Cooper over-corrected the vehicle and lost control of it. The vehicle rolled over and struck a tree on the left side of the road. Upon impact, the vehicle split in half and continued northbound where it struck another tree on the left side of the road.

Cooper and one of his two passengers, Jordan Louis Drees, 17, of Sidney, were both ejected from the vehicle. Neither were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Drees was also cited for a seat belt violation.
