Sheriff’s log

FRIDAY

-10:57 a.m.: scam. Deputies were dispatched 15151 State Route 119 in Dinsmore Township on the report of a scam call.

-8:13 a.m.: threats. Deputies responded to the report of threatening text messages at 9495 Baker Road in Salem Township.

-5:58 a.m.: assist. Deputies were dispatched to Scott Road at state Route 29 in Franklin Township to assist OSP.

THURSDAY

-8:04 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies responded to the 5000 Knoop Johnston Road on the report a car was in the ditch and field.

-3 p.m.: disorderly conduct. Gary R. Bryant, 60, 10650 Shenk Road, Sidney, was arrested for disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a report about a man outside of a residence with a knife. According to the report from the Sheriff’s Office, Bryant thought there were three men with guns outside of his camper trying to get in and kill him. The reportee said no one was out of his camper. She told deputies they were trying to convince Bryant to go to the hospital for the evaluation of mental issues. Police had been called to the residence for service for similar circumstances seven other times since June, so he was taken into custody and charged with persistent disorderly conduct.

-6 a.m.: property damage crash. Jackson Center Police responded to Plastipak in Jackson Township on the report of a crash.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-11:43 a.m.: crash with injuries. Fort Loramie Rescue and Fire Department and deputies responded to 5000 block of state Route 47 in Cynthian Township on the report of a six-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicates a westbound vehicle traveling behind a combine on state Route 47 tried to pass the combine when it the struck the combine and four other parked vehicles.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

-11:18 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 100 block of West North Street.

-9:37 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police and Fire responded to the 500 block of East State Street in Dinsmore Township.

-7:27 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue responded to the 100 block of Knoop Johnston Road in Perry Township.

A bright yellow Chevy Camaro, owned by Peter Hasselbeck, of Houston, sits damaged in the front yard of a house on the 5000 block of state route 47 near Houston on Friday, Oct. 18.
