Police log

MONDAY

-3:29 a.m.: criminal damaging. The under carriage of a white 2005 Ford was reported damaged during the theft of a catalytic converter from the vehicle in the 1100 block of South Vandemark Road.

SUNDAY

-7:11 p.m.: domestic violence. Tyler Allen Hiestand, 31, of Sidney, was arrested on domestic violence charges.

-1:20 p.m.: theft. A TV stand, which was delivered from Amazon, was reported stolen at an apartment in the 800 block of Arrowhead Drive.

-12:57 p.m.: criminal damaging. The driver’s side door handle on a red 2007 Buick was reported damaged in the 500 block of Campbell Road.

-12:45 p.m.: domestic violence. Tyler Allen Hiestand, 31, of Sidney, and Jessica L. A. Sowders, 33, of Sidney, were both arrested on domestic violence charges.

-9:20 a.m.: warrant. Tina M. Hicks, 43, of Sidney, was arrested on theft charges.

-6:16 a.m.: criminal trespass. Police responded to a trespassing report at an apartment complex in the 800 block of St. Marys Road.

SATURDAY

-11:45 p.m.: trafficking of drugs. Devin M. Williams, 20, of Sidney, was arrested on trafficking in drugs containing cocaine, possessing criminal tools, failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, carrying concealed weapon and assault charges.

-8:56 p.m.: burglary. A burglary and a protection order was reported violated in the 400 block of Michigan Street.

-4:50 p.m.: contempt. Heather N. Reineke, 39, of Piqua, was arrested on a contempt warrant.

-4:47 p.m.: driving under the influence. Gary Lee Powell, 63, of Sidney, was arrested for OVI and OVI refusal breath with prior DUI.

-3:49 p.m.: domestic violence. A warrant was issued after police investigated a report of a domestic incident.

-10:53 a.m.: failure to pay city taxes. Jacob S. Noe, 33, and Cassandra J. Noe, 30, both of Sidney, were both issued a summons for failure to pay city taxes.  

-8:57 a.m.: theft. The theft of $1,000 worth of clothes was reported in the 300 block of East Court Street.

-1:36 a.m.: possession of drugs. Jerry Jhaamil Avant, 26, at large, was arrested with the possession of drugs and tampering with evidence charges.

Crashes 

No one was cited after a single-vehicle crash on Sunday at 12:02 a.m.

Devin M. Williams, 20, of Sidney, was fleeing police eastbound at a high speed on Fair Road at Colonial Drive and when he attempted to turn south onto Colonial Drive he went off the road to the east into the backyard of 1051 Fairmont Drive and then hit a tree before coming to a stop.

• Jenica Lee Browning, 17, of Sidney, was cited with right of way when turning left after a two-vehicle crash on Saturday at 1:08 p.m.

Browning was traveling westbound on Park Street when she attempted to turn left to go south onto Fourth Avenue and turned into the pathway of the eastbound vehicle on Park Street that was driven by Randy S. Epley, 44, of Sidney.

• Makayla Lynn Lee, 20, of Sidney, was cited with operation of vehicle at stop after a three-vehicle crash on Friday at 4:22 p.m.

Lee was traveling southbound on Fourth Avenue when she hit the rear of the vehicle in front of her that was driven by Brian A. Haney, 24, of Sidney. The collision then caused Haney to strike the rear of the vehicle in front of him that was driven by Timothy C. Hudgins, 35, of Sidney.

Lee was transported by Sidney Fire to Wilson Health.

• No one was cited after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at 2:34 p.m.

Adam A. Conner, 23, of Sidney, was traveling westbound on state Route 47 and was waiting to turn left onto Interstate 75. He told police the stop light turned red and when he began to turn onto the I-75 entrance ramp he was struck by the eastbound vehicle on state Route 47 that was driven by Jacob A. Bertsch Jr., 67, of Sidney.

Bertsch told police he had a green light and Conner turned in front of him.

Because there were on witnesses present and police could not determine who was at fault, no citation was issued.

MONDAY

-2:36 a.m.: medical. Medics responded to a call.

SUNDAY

-6:19 p.m.: fire alarm. Firefighters responded to a fire alarm.

-12:40 a.m. to 11:31 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to 12 calls.

SATURDAY

-12:47 to 9:52 p.m.: fire alarm. Firefighters responded to three fire alarms.

-10:06 a.m. to 11:19 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to seven calls.

FRIDAY

-4:22 p.m.: crash. Firefighters were responded to a crash.

-8:03 a.m. to 11:49 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to nine calls.

-7:26 a.m.: wires down. Firefighter responded to downed wires.
