Arrest made in child abuse case

SIDNEY — On Friday May 13, 2016 Detectives of the Sidney Police Department developed information that led to the arrest of a suspect in a child endangering case reported on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, according to a press release sent out Friday afternoon.

Allen Daniels, 21 of Sidney, was arrested and charged with two counts of felonious assault. Daniels is the biological father of one of the victims, according to the release.

The original call, a child not breathing, was reported to the Sidney Police Department at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at 1135 Hilltop Ave., Apt. F. First responders administered CPR to a 6-week-old infant and were able to revive the child.

During the investigation a second child victim was identified. Both children were taken to Wilson Health and then transferred to Children’s Medical Center in Dayton.
