TUESDAY

-3:55 p.m.: theft. Carrie Wardell, 35, 315 Wagner Ave., reported the theft of her son’s black BMX bike from sometime between Jan. 1 and May 31.

-2:09 p.m.: loud music from vehicle. Jesse Yates, 25, 326 Maple St., was arrested after a report was made of loud music coming from his vehicle in the 300 block of Maple Street. A summons was issued and then he was released.

-11:21 a.m.: theft. Mindy Smith, 24, 551 Culvert St., reported the theft of a Frigidaire air conditioner and green carpet shampooer from her residence between May 29 and May 31.

-11:19 a.m.: driving under the influence. Michael Kemme, 35, Urbana, was arrested for OVI.

Accidents

Kenna Chavez, 43, 2991 W. Mason Road, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after an accident on Tuesday at 3:55 p.m.

Chavez was traveling eastbound on Michigan Street when she struck the rear of another vehicle stopped in traffic in front of her facing eastbound. Chavez’s vehicle sustained minor damage and the other vehicle sustained functional damage.

The driver of the other vehicle was Charlotte Moffitt, 60, 613 S. Highland Ave.

• John Berkey, 31, 7307 Fort Loramie Swanders Road, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after an accident on Saturday at 2:08 p.m.

Berkey was traveling eastbound on state Route 47 when he slid as he was slowing down and hit the rear of another vehicle stopped in front of him in the turn lane waiting to turn left.

The driver of the other vehicle was Lewis Phyillaier, 77, 7869 Smally Road.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-10:09 to 11:04 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to two calls.

-9:08 p.m.: fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the 1563 E. Court St. on a report of an open burn. Upon arrival fire was out. The fire was not permitted by city ordinances as it was too close to a structure.

-2:26 to 8:50 p:m.: medical. Medics responded to four calls.

-1:49 p.m.: spill on roadway. Crews were dispatched to the 100 block of South Main Street on a report of a spill on the road.

-9:43 a.m. to 1:05 p:m.: medical. Medics responded to four calls.

-10:14 a.m.: fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the 1500 block of Michigan Street to confirm a false fire alarm.
