Police log

FRIDAY

-1:55 a.m.: burglary. Floyd Swigert, 65, 122 W. North St., reported the theft of two TVs, a DVD player, a computer, and various other items from his residence.

THURSDAY

-6:01 p.m.: theft. Police are investigating a report made by Oasis Drive Thru on Michigan Avenue of the theft of $356 and a bag of potato chips by an employee.

-3:17 p.m.: warrant. Brittany Whalen, 20, Covington, was arrested on an active warrant. She was transported to the Shelby County Jail.

-1:40 p.m.: found property. A set of keys were found at the Sidney Village Apartments on Buckeye Avenue and then turned into the police department for safe keeping.

-11:33 a.m. theft. Greg Johnson, 27, 310 N. West Ave., was arrested on a warrant for theft and was also charged with resisting arrest.

-10:13 a.m.: failure to pay city taxes. Bodie Griffith, 39, 625 N. West Ave., was arrested for failure to pay city taxes.

-9:55 a.m.: theft. Able Williamson, 52, 627 N. West Ave., reported that between midnight and 9:55 a.m. someone took his Yardman lawnmower without permission.

WEDNESDAY

-1:46 p.m.: theft. Joshua Holtzclaw, 27, 2805 Wapakoneta Ave., Lot 13, was arrested after the Dollar General on West Russell Road reported he shoplifted two Red Bull energy drinks.

-8:34 a.m.: burglary. Tammie Findley, 46, 604 ½ N. Main Ave., reported someone damaged the door to her apartment.

Accidents

No one was cited following an accident on Thursday at 4:18 p.m.

Jason Dotson, 29, 430 E. Russell Road, was traveling west onto the Interstate 75 on-ramp at Michigan Street when he hit the rear of the vehicle stopped at the light in front of him. Dotson could not stop in time because he had break failure.

The driver of the other vehicle was Aubrey Schulze, 17, 884 Crescent Drive.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-1:06 to 9:07 a.m.: medical. Medics responded to six calls.

THURSDAY

-11:50 p.m.: fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the 300 block of North Miami Avenue on an open burn complaint.

-8:16 to 8:52 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to two calls.

-6:08 p.m.: fire. Crews were dispatched to Cargill on Industrial Drive on a fire alarm.

-1:36 to 5:46 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to four calls.

-12:25 p.m.: mutual aid. Medics responded to Miami Conservancy Road and Kaser Road for mutual aid on a report of an auto accident with injuries.

-8:03 a.m. to 12:03 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to four calls.
