TUESDAY

-2:28 p.m.: theft. Deputies were dispatched to 4141 state Route 48 in Loramie Township on the report of the theft of mail.

-1:56 p.m.: theft. Deputies were dispatched to 6864 state Route 119 in McLean Township on the report of fraud.

-12:54 p.m.: vehicle in ditch. Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block River Road in Orange Township on the report of a one-vehicle accident.

-8:07 a.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to Johnston Road and state Route 29 in Perry Township on the report of a property damage accident.

MONDAY

-3:28 p.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to West North Street and North Third Street on the report of a car accident.

-9:21 a.m.: suspicious car. Deputies were dispatched to 6401 Lock Two Road in Van Buren Township on the report of a suspicious car on the property Saturday morning.

-2:05 a.m.: assist. Deputies were dispatched to 18965 state Route 219 in Van Buren Township to assist another unit.

SUNDAY

-9:27 p.m.: assault. Deputies were dispatched to 1886 Kuther Road in Washington Township on the report of an assault.

-9:19 p.m.: suspicious car. Deputies were dispatched to Chief Tarkee Court and Little Turtle Way in Washington Township on the report of a suspicious car parked the wrong way.

-5:14 p.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to 5880 state Route 29, Unit 67, in Perry Township on the report someone put glass on the front porch of the residence.

-4:04 p.m.: burglary. Deputies were dispatched to 19788 Herring Road in Salem Township on the report of a past burglary.

FRIDAY

-5:58 p.m.: burglary. Benjamin M. Couchot, 45, 12065 Thelma Drive, Minster, reported someone broke into his residence and took a television and air conditioner. The items were valued at $1,500.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-11:05 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue and Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Smith Road in Loramie Township.

-8:13 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue and Fort Loramie Fire Department responded to the 6000 block of Jackson Road in Perry Township.

-5:57 a.m.: fire. Maplewood Fire Department responded to 21783 Maplewood Road in Salem Township on the report of a pole and a transformer on fire.

-3:46 a.m.: vehicle in ditch. Deputies were dispatched to Lock Two Road and Wenger Road in Dinsmore Township on the report of a semitrailer in a ditch.

MONDAY

-7:01 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 300 block of South Mill Street in Dinsmore Township.

-5:28 p.m.: fire. Van Buren Township Fire Department responded to 14100 McCartyville Road in Van Buren Township for an barn fire investigation.

-2:35 p.m.: fire. Fort Loramie Fire Department responded to 284 Dorman Drive in Turtle Creek Township on the report of the smell of gas.

-9:59 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue, Lockington Fire Department and Deputies responded to the 3000 block of Chief Tarkee Court in Washington Township.

-6:21 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 300 block of South Pike Street in Franklin Township.

SUNDAY

-5:48 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue, Sidney Medics and Fire Department were dispatched to the 15000 block of Sharp Road in Franklin Township.

Accidents

• Caleb Andrew Fogle, 20, 2135 Westminster Drive, Sidney, was westbound on Main Street in Port Jefferson on Saturday at 6:28 p.m. when he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel.

Just after the intersection with Pasco Montra Road, his vehicle crossed the center line and went off the left side of the road, passing an eastbound vehicle on its right side. Once off the left side of the road, the vehicle struck a mailbox and utility pole belonging to Dayton Power & Light. The pole was broken off.

Fogle told deputies he fell asleep and didn’t remember passing through the intersection.

His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• Philip E. Van Hook, 57, 10771 Millcreek Road, Sidney, was transported to Wilson Health by Houston Rescue following a two-vehicle crash Saturday at 5:29 p.m.

Van Hook was attempting to turn into the driveway at his residence when he failed to yield and struck a vehicle driven by Lisa Young, 48, of 9536 Houston Road, Sidney, who was westbound on Millcreek Road.

Van Hook’s vehicle was disabled in the accident and towed from the scene. Young’s vehicle was also disabled in the crash.

• Zachary Payne Smith, 21, 5880 State Route 29, Lot 47, Sidney, was cited for failure to control following an crash Saturday at 2:17 a.m.

Smith was eastbound on state Route 29 when he said a deer ran out in from of him. Smith swerved to miss the deer and the vehicle started fish tailing and went off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail and rolled onto its top.

The deputy questioned Smith about going off the right side of the road, which Smith denied.

The investigation showed that the vehicle was eastbound and failed to negotiated a right hand turn in the road. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and the driver over corrected the vehicle. It then went off the left side of the road, struck the guardrail, came back onto the road and rolled onto its top.

The vehicle was disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.

Port Jefferson Fire was dispatched to the scene to take care of the fuel that leaked from the vehicle.
