Sidney man gets 3 years in prison for gas station robbery

SIDNEY — A Sidney man who robbed the Fuel Stop gas station on West Court Street in October was sentenced to three years in prison this week.

Michael A. Sloan, 22, appeared in Shelby County Common Pleas Court in December to enter the guilty plea to his original charge: one count of robbery, a felony of the second degree.

In addition to the three years in prison he will have to complete three years of mandatory probation upon his release from prison. He was given credit for 105 days in jail.

Also this week, Austin Gambrel, 20, of Sidney, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, a $200 fine, and sex offender counseling for one count of public indecency. He was originally charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, but the charge was amended as part of a plea agreement. He will also have to complete five years of probation.

Seth Centers, 34, of Houston, was sentenced to 90 days in jail, a $400 fine, and sex offender counseling for one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He was originally charged with another count of pandering obscenity involving a minor, but it was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. He will also have to complete five years of probation.
