Cantrell Jr. receives additional prison time

SIDNEY – A former city man, currently in prison on charges from two other counties, received additional prison time when sentenced in Shelby County Common Pleas Court recently.

Richard Cantrell Jr., 29, currently incarcerated with the Ohio Department of Correction and Rehabilitation in Orient, was sentenced to 11 months in prison on one count of receiving stolen property. He was found guilty of obtaining another person’s credit card.

The sentence will be served consecutively with current prison time on charges from Miami and Montgomery counties.

Judge James Stevenson also ruled in other cases recently.

• Christopher J. Briesmeister, 36, Knoxville, Tennessee, was denied treatment in lieu of conviction on charges of possession of drugs and possession of criminal tools.

• Winchester Wiley, 31, 306 N. Miami Ave., Apt. C, entered a guilty plea to charges of possession of drugs and possession of criminal tools. His sentencing has been set for May 27.

• Christy Wilkins, 41, 824 Park St. Apt. 4, trafficking in drugs, failed to appear in court for her sentencing. Her $7,500 10 percent bond was forfeited and a warrant for her arrest was issued.
