TUESDAY

-12:36 a.m.: theft. Leilia McKibben, 204 Doorley Road, reported a theft involving a vehicle owned by Thrifty Car Rental.

MONDAY

-11:19 p.m.: unruly juvenile. Police received a report that a juvenile was being unruly and another person was contributing to that.

-10:30 p.m.: criminal damaging. Deanne Browning, 981 N. Wagner Ave., reported someone broke out the rear window of her auto at her residence. Loss was $300.

-12:20 p.m.: telecommunications fraud. Stephanie Couchot, 827 Fair Road, reported a scam.

-10:53 a.m.: criminal damaging. Brenda Snider, 631 Michigan St., reported the driver’s side mirror on her auto was damaged at her residence. Loss was $100.

-10:42 a.m.: defrauding creditors. Personnel at American Budget, 2320 Michigan St., reported possible fraud involving a 1977 Camaro. Loss was $20,000.

-8:02 a.m.: aggravated menacing. A juvenile was menaced in the 400 block of Canal Street.

-7:16 a.m.: theft. Jody New, 732 Chestnut Ave., reported two bicycles, valued at $125, were stolen from her detached garage.

SUNDAY

-8:12 p.m.: telephone harassment and criminal damaging. Sherry Martens, 816 Michigan St., reported a person continues to text and call her after being advised to stop. She also reported someone used a key to damage her vehicle. Loss was $1,000.

-2:53 p.m.: theft. Danielle Beard, 826 Fulton St., reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle at her residence and stole $60 cash, credit and debit cards, and Social Security cards.

-11:14 a.m.: property found. A backpack was found abandoned at Sidney High School and given to police.

-10:24 a.m.: criminal damaging. Kenneth Miller, 204 Karen Ave., reported someone damaged the door on his shed.

-8:59 a.m.: breaking and entering. Howard Miller, 415 S. Wilkinson Ave., reported a snowblower, valued at $700, was stolen from his residence.

-3:56 a.m.: breaking and entering. A breaking and entering was reported to be in progress at the residence of Susan Weber, 1242 Turner Drive.

-3:49 a.m.: warrant. Police arrested Nicolai Crumpler, 40, of Troy, on a warrant from Miami County on a charge of aggravated burglary.

-3:16 a.m.: discharging firearms. Police were called to Arrowhead Apartments on a report of shots fired. No one was arrested.

-3:13 a.m.: criminal damaging. An alarm on the auto of Daniel Crusey, 621 S. Miami Ave., went off at the residence. A window was found to have been broken, causing a $150 loss.

-1:38 a.m.: domestic violence. Police arrested Phillip M. Joiner Jr. 43, 302 S. Walnut Ave., on a charge of domestic violence. He allegedly assaulted Susan Rupert, of the same address. She had apparent minor injuries.

SATURDAY

-11:56 p.m.: drug abuse. Police arrested Dylan J. Coverstone, 21, 200 Kelch Road, Russia, on a charge of drug abuse. The investigation began when the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office got a complaint from a resident at 7850 Pasco-Montra Road that a pickup truck had driven through the yard. Sidney Police were alerted to be on the lookout for the vehicle and later located it and the driver. Coverstone denied driving into the yard, but did admit being in the area and talking to the person who reported the incident, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

-8:45 p.m.: criminal damaging. The windshield in the auto of Michelle Griffis, 317 Stewart St., was damaged at 528 Rauth St. Loss was $100.

-10:51 a.m.: property found. A cell phone was found in the Grove Street area and given to police.

-10:25 a.m.: aggravated assault. Gary Drew, 718 Arrowhead Drive, Apt. B, reported a male aquaintance stabbed him in the back three times at the Arrowhead Apartments basketball court. He had apparent minor injuries.

FRIDAY

-9:39 p.m.: criminal trespass. Police arrested Michael Elliott, 41, of Troy, on a charge of criminal trespass. He allegedly trespassed on the property of Natalie Slife, 614 N. Main Ave.

-8:58 p.m.: burglary. Paula Knight, 401 S. Highland Ave., reported someone entered her residence and stole a microwave oven, office-sized refrigerator, lawnmower, jewelry, five cameras, five phones, 10 curtains, 20 light bulbs, two motorcycle helmets, and a hammer drill, valued at $1,285.

-8:48 p.m.: theft. Tyler Miranda, 425 N. Miami Ave., reported a Playstation 3, valued at $150, was stolen from his residence.

-2:42 p.m.: property found. A bicycle was found at 1542 Michigan St. and given to police.

-1:59 p.m.: theft. Clinton Cramer, at large, reported a gas grill, a boys bicycle and two girls bikes, valued at $110, were stolen from the back porch at 638 N. Ohio Ave.

-11:58 a.m.: warrant. Police arrested Stephanie Scherer, 40, at large, on a warrant.

-8:37 a.m.: criminal damaging. Gina Hurley 301 N. Pike St., Anna, reported that while she was driving southbound on Interstate 75, some people threw objects off the north side of the state Route 47 overpass. Her windshield was damaged, causing a $7,000 loss.

THURSDAY

-9:16 a.m.: unauthorized use of motor vehicle and theft. Billie Yohannes, 301 Enterprise Ave., reported someone took a car, $150 cash, and a cell phone, valued at $100, from her residence.

SEPT. 22

-10:18 a.m.: theft. Melissa Blair, 14236 Wells Road, Anna, reported theft of medication from 201 Oak Ave.

Accidents

Katherine R. Zeller, 43, of Huntsville, was cited with failure to maintain an assured clear distance after an accident Thursday at 2:27 p.m.

Zeller was southbound on Interstate 75 at the 91 mile marker. She failed to see a car ahead of her slowing in a construction zone. She ran into the rear of an auto driven by Kenneth Moveelinzo, 64, of Newfield, New Jersey.

• Kaleb Sayre, 21, of Dayton, was cited with failure to maintain an assured clear distance after an accident Thursday at 8:59 p.m.

Sayre was westbound on state Route 47 and struck the rear of a car that was stopped westbound waiting to turn left onto southbound Interstate 75. The driver of the other auto was Lauren Ritzi, 25, of Troy.

• Emogene Collins, 82, 777 Marilyn Drive, was cited with improper backing after an accident Friday at 9:25 a.m.

Collins was backing from an angled parking space in the 100 block of North Ohio Avenue and struck a car parked in the adjacent space. The owner of the parked auto was Cindy Terwilliger, 3000 Sidney-Freyburg Road.

• Linda L. Baker, 73, 3833 County Road 25A, was cited with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Sunday at 4:53 p.m.

Baker was westbound on Court Street and turned left at Harvard Avenue into the path of an eastbound auto driven by Jamie D. Alexander, 37, 703 Frazier-Guy Road. The Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services responded and took Alexander to Wilson Memorial Hospital. Baker was taken by other transport. Both drivers had possible injuries.

• A pickup truck hit two deer Monday at 6:59 p.m.

Timothy L. Cotterman, 63, 122 Woodhaven Drive, was northbound in the 1300 block of South Main Avenue when two deer darted from the west side of the road and were hit by the truck. Both deer were gone when police arrived. The truck sustained minor damage.

• A hit-skip accident occurred Monday at 9:49 p.m.

A car was westbound on Michigan Street, west of Fourth Avenue, when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail in the center of the street. The car turned sideways from the impact. Another westbound auto, driven by Jesse Kruckeberg, 16, of Troy, hit the car. The driver of the first car fled from the scene.
