School gets bomb threat

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta Middle School students were transported to another location after a bomb threat Friday.

Wapakoneta Police Department was notified at 9:52 a.m. by a Wapakoneta City Schools official of the threat at the middle school.

Students and staff were evcauated from the building and taken to the high school where they were also feed, according to the Wapakoneta City Schools Facebook page.

The threat was written on a folder in a classroom that several students have access to everyday.

Allen County Regional Bomb Squad and explosives-detecting K-9’s assisted in clearing the building. Nothing was found. Students and staff were allowed to resumed their school day once the building was cleared.

The incident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene was the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the Allen County Regional Bomb Squad, the Wapakoneta Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
