Mariano was legally parked on the south side of Park Street when she opened her door and struck the passenger’s side of an eastbound vehicle on Park Street that was driven by Natalie Schmidt, 17, 828 N. West Ave.

• Jacob Bertsch, 63, 3223 Knoop Johnston Road, was cited with improper backing after a crash on Tuesday at 2:32 p.m.

Bertsch was backing out onto Main Avenue when he struck the vehicle facing northbound on Main Avenue that was sitting at the light at Court Street.

The other vehicle was driven by Tevyn Osborne, 20, 1816 Glenn Place.

• Leslie Randall, 35, Brookville, was cited with failure to control and leaving the scene after a crash on Monday at 9:12 a.m.

Randall was traveling westbound on Fair Road when she drifted off the north side of the roadway and struck a mailbox at 2304 Fair Road, then continued westbound off the roadway and struck a large concrete block. Randall re-entered the roadway and continued to drive a little way before stopping due to damage to the right rear of the vehicle. She then left the scene.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and became police evidence.

According to the police report, when Sidney Police made contact with Randall, she denied hitting anything and said her tie rod was broke on her vehicle and that’s why it was parked there.

However, a wheel weight and piece of the right rear tire rim were found along the roadway, which matched her impounded vehicle.

After police read Randall her rights, she admitted to falling asleep while driving after she had taken a pain pill around 11 p.m., Sunday. Randall told police the crash occurred around 4 a.m., Monday.

• No one was cited following a crash on Saturday at 3:19 p.m.
