Wapakoneta police seek help in identifying theft suspects

WAPAKONETA — The Wapakoneta Police Department is seeking assistance in the search for three suspects who allegedly attempted to steal approximately $5,000 in merchandise from the Wapakoneta Walmart, 1257 Bellefontaine St., Wapakoneta.

According to the press release, the trio entered Walmart around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7. Most of the merchandise they attempted to take was electronic items.

Much of the items they attempted to take was left behind. It is believed they did take between $1,500 to 2,000 worth of merchandise.

Two vehicles are believed to be involved in the theft. One is a white four-door sedan, possibly an early 2000 Chrysler 300. The second vehicle is a dark colored four-door sedan; the make is unknown.

The case remains under investigation.
