Police log

TUESDAY

-4:44 p.m.: disorderly conduct. Stephen Cheek, 46, at large, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

-3:02 p.m.: unruly juvenile. A juvenile was arrested on unruly juvenile charges.

MONDAY

-6:34 p.m.: drug abuse. Milton George, 20, and Allison Smith, 18, both of 835 N. Main Ave., were arrested for drug abuse. George was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police investigated a drug complaint. Police discovered and seized marijuana plants and a small growth operation, including a 4-inch strip of lights and bulbs, a black heater, a white box fan, a white timer, a thermometer, multiple dead marijuana plants, Take Root, plastic and aluminum sheeting, a small and a large marijuana plant, multiple glass pipes, bongs and gas mask bongs, a small spot light and small garden hose plant food.

-1:54 p.m.: theft. Police are investigating the report made by Kole Jones, 19, 315 S. Main Ave., of the past theft of his Mutual Federal debit card.

Crashes

Lauren Weiskittel, 60, 458 W. Parkwood St., was cited with starting and backing following a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday at 12:55 p.m.

Weiskittel was backing out of her driveway on Parkwood Street and struck the unoccupied parked vehicle in front of 475 W. Parkwood St. that was facing the east.

The other vehicle is owned by Tamela Huddleston, 805 Arrowhead Drive.

• Aaron Phelps, 24, 131 Mound St., was cited with unsafe vehicle following a two-vehicle crash on Monday at 5:08 p.m.

Phelps was traveling westbound on East Court Street and as he went down Orbison Hill his breaks stopped working. As he approached Brooklyn Avenue he was unable to stop. Phelps had to go between vehicles through the center of the road and but then stuck the driver’s side of the westbound vehicle on East Court Street that was driven by Elisa Bresback, 62, 608 Brooklyn Ave.

• No one was cited following a crash on Monday at 2:42 p.m.

Doris Coverstone, 80, 102 Barr St., told police she was turning left from Wayfarer Lane onto West Michigan Street on a green light in the left lane when another vehicle came flying pasted her and struck her vehicle.

Craig Anderson, 27, 7023 Wright Moyer Road, told police he was traveling westbound on West Michigan Street in the right lane on a green light and as he was approaching the intersection of Wayfarer Lane he was struck by Coverstone.

According to the police report, both vehicles were moved prior to police arrival and due to no witnesses who was at fault could not determined and no citation was issued.

-1:33 to 4:58 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to five calls.
