SIDNEY — The investigation into the fire at 201 W. Water St. has been closed.

According to a press release from the Sidney Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the origin of the Aug. 28 fire was in the kitchen area of an apartment on the second story of the structure. The cause of the fire was incendiary.

The crime was committed by a lone juvenile, who was taken into custody.

The structure sustained light damage and loss was estimated at $5,000. There was no loss to contents as the house was vacant.

The fire department and Sidney Police Department investigated the fire.
