Sheriff’s log

THURSDAY

-1:37 p.m.: school bus passing. Deputies were dispatched to the 18000 block of State Route 47 in Salem Township on the report of a school bus passing.

-1:15 p.m.: investigate complaint. Deputies investigated a possible identity theft or scam complaint at 895 Miami Conservancy Road in Washington Township.

-3:42 a.m.: theft. Deputies responded to Windy Hills Campground on state Route 47 in Cynthian Township on the report of a theft.

WEDNESDAY

-9:18 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies responded to 16053 Botkins Road in Dinsmore Township on the report of a crash in the parking lot.

Crashes

Madison Young, 19, 820 N. Main Ave., Sidney, was cited with failure to control after a crash on Wednesday at 3:13 p.m.

Young was traveling westbound in the 400 block of state Route 29 when she failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway, lost control, crossed the center line, then over corrected causing the vehicle to leave the road to east. Her vehicle then overturned in the side ditch and came to a final rest on its wheels.

Port Jefferson Firefighters, Deputies responded to the scene and Perry Port Salem Rescue transported Young to Wilson Health.

Fire, rescue

THURSDAY

-7:09 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Township responded to the 17300 block of state Route 47 in Salem Township.

WEDNESDAY

-9:44 p.m.: fire. Anna Rescue and Fire Department and Botkins, Jackson Center and Van Buren Fire Departments responded to 218 Robb St., Apt. B, for a vehicle on fire in a garage.

-6:43 p.m.: wash down. Van Buren Township Fire Department and Deputies responded to Blanke Road at Lucas Geib Road in Van Buren Township for a wash down.

-4:47 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police responded to the 300 block of South Mill Street in Dinsmore Township.

-3:13 p.m.: crash. Perry Port Salem Rescue, Port Jefferson Fire Department and Deputies responded to 4955 State Route 29 in Green Township on the report of a single-vehicle crash.
