Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-9:05 a.m.: theft. Theft of a credit card was reported at 8100 Lochard Road.

-12:25 a.m.: property-damage accident. An auto accident occurred at the intersection of Fort Loramie-Swanders and Sidney-Freyburg roads.

MONDAY

-4:42 p.m.: accident with injuries. An auto accident was reported at the 94 mile marker of southbound Interstate 75. The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded.

-9:22 a.m.: vandalism. A mailbox was vandalized at 5025 Fessler-Buxton Road.

SUNDAY

-7:32 p.m.: theft. Theft of money was reported at 5426 Frazier-Guy Road.

-6:42 p.m.: theft. Theft of salt blocks was reported at 8601 Lochard Road.

-6:13 p.m.: theft. Theft of firewood was reported at 305 Pasco-Montra Road.

SATURDAY

-4:30 p.m.: assault. A Jackson Center juvenile was charged with assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

-12:12 a.m.: theft without consent. Ashley Edwards, 610 E. Pike St., Jackson Center, reported the theft of items from her Ford Mustang. Taken from the vehicle were $125 in cash, a Pioneer stereo/CD player valued at $275, and half a tank of gas siphoned from the vehicle. Another vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup, was also damaged and entered. Taken from it were a Sprint I-phone valued at $150, Garmin GPS unit valued at $200, Allen wrench set valued at $15, and a socket set valued at $20.

FRIDAY

-1:26 p.m. burglary. Daniel L. Perreira, 2522 S. Knoop Johnston Road, Sidney, reported the theft of items from his residence. Items taken included a plain wood box with knife, Dale Earnhardt Jr. homemade quilt, Playstation 3 console and two controllers, Playstation 3 console, XBox 360 console and one controller, WII console, assorted PS3, Xbox and WII games, assorted Blue Ray movie discs, assorted DVD movie discs, Hewlett Packard laptop computer, 32-inch LG flat screen television, John Deere blanket, pocket knife, two Direct TV box. 32-inch flat screen television, a bucket with change and a sweatshirt. The items were valued at more than $4,000. The items belong to Perreira and his roommate, John D Walsh-McDade.

THURSDAY

9:49 p.m.: property-damage accident. Chad D. Schroer, 21, of Fort Recovery, reported several large bales of hay fell from a trailer on state Route 705. Schroer was unable to avoid the bales and struck them. His vehicle sustained minor damage. The truck that was pulling the trailer didn’t stop.

TUESDAY

-11:42 a.m.: injury. Van Buren Township Fire was called to the 7000 block of state Route 274.

-10:17 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was called to the 200 block of Roth Street, Botkins.

-9:48 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue was called to the 5000 block of Fessler-Buxton Road.

MONDAY

-4:47 p.m.: field fire. Lockington Fire was called to a field fire at 12345 Miami-Shelby Road.

-4:07 p.m.: medical. Fort Loramie Rescue was called to the 10000 block of Kuther Road.

-3:20 p.m.: injury. Fort Loramie Rescue was called to the 8000 block of Cecil Road.

-3:07 p.m.: corn field fire. Anna Fire was called to a corn field fire at 15225 Meranda Road.

-2:07 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was called to the 300 block of Clay Street, Jackson Center.

-11:58 a.m.: trash fire. Fort Loramie Fire was called to 12465 Hardin-Wapakoneta Road to extinguish a trash fire that was out of control.

-11:48 a.m.: injury. Fort Loramie Rescue was called to the 12000 block of state Route 362.

-9:19 a.m.: medical. Fort Loramie Rescue was called to the 200 block of East Park Street.

-7:03 a.m.: medical. Perry-Port-Salem Rescue was called to the 6000 block of Jackson Road.

SUNDAY

-11:34 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was called to the 10000 block of Santa Fe-New Knoxville Road in Auglaize County.

-7:29 p.m.: medical. Russia Fire and Houston Rescue were called to the 3000 block of state Route 48.

-5:58 p.m.: field fire. Fort Loramie Fire was called to a field fire at 9590 Eilerman Road.

Accidents

No citations were issued by the Jackson Center Police Department following a two-vehicle accident Thursday, Oct. 8, at 3:41 p.m.

According to the report, the accident happened in the 500 block of East Pike Street where road construction is going on. The road was split into three lanes, using orange barricades. There was no signage or flagger present in the area at the time of the accident.

Jayel Raylee Frye, 18, of Jackson Center, was traveling west in the far north lane of the street, while Anthony J. Dongus, 48, of Lucasville, was traveling west in the middle lane. Frye attempted to make a left hand turn across the middle land and the far southside lane onto Howard Street. Her vehicle was struck by Dongus’ vehicle as the made the turn into the middle lane.

Frye was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, by Anna Rescue.

Her 2001 Honda Civic was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Dongus’s 2012 International Harvester sustained functional damage.

Due to the roadway conditions and construction factor, fault could not be clearly determined by Chief Joe Cotterman and no citations were issued.
