SIDNEY — The Altrusa Club of Sidney has named its 2018 scholarship recipients.

Grants of $1,000 each were presented by Sidney Altrusa President Bev Mintchell to Brandi Nicole Motsinger, daughter of Timothy and Bonnie Stockstill, and Andrew Jacob Shoemaker, son of Doug and Gwen Shoemaker.

Motsinger is a 2017 graduate of Sidney High School. She has been a student at Tiffin University for the past year, majroing in Forensic Psychology/Addictions Counseling.

Shoemaker is a 2017 graduate of Anna High School and is continuing his studies in Bioengineering at the University of Toledo.

Applicants were evaluated on need, academics, strength of references, school and community activities and volunteerism. Funds used to award the grants were procured through Sidney Altrusa’s sale of Elder Beerman coupon books and the club’s adult spelling bee.
