SIDNEY — The Sidney American Legion Auxiliary Unit 217 has announced the names of students to whom it has made $500 grants for the 2015-16 academic year.

To be eligible for a grant, students must have completed a year of college and be the child, grandchild or stepchild of an American Legion Post or Auxiliary Unit 217 member.

Those receiving grants are Connor Bowers, of Sidney, grandson of Roy Morelock; Jessica Hamberg, of Anna, daughter of Patricia Hemberg; Andrew Jensen, of Sidney, son of Sherri Jensen; Brooke Laughlin, of Powell, granddaughter of June and Ron Laughlin; and Steven McClain, of Sidney, grandson of Ann Hannegan and of Michael McClain.
