SIDNEY — Students at Christian Academy Schools in Sidney will travel to the 1950s for a sock hop, Jan. 23.
That’s the theme of their homecoming event, which will welcome academy students in grades 7-12, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the school. There will be a dinner and hula hoop, twist and karaoke contests.
The event follows the Jan. 22 homecoming basketball game between Sidney Christian Academy and Urbana Victory Christian. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned during half-time festivities.
The homecoming court are EJ Ball, son of Elsa and Ed Ball; Charissa Divens, daughter of Jennifer and Joshua Divens; Evan Miller, son of Lisa and Todd Miller; Jerrod Peterson, son of Rhonda and the Rev. Harry Peterson; and Ethan Young, son of Amy Young and Tony Young. All are from Sidney.
Class attendants are ninth-graders Micah Condon and Autumn Peterson; 10th-graders Josten Carpenter and Gabi Weymer and 11th-graders Sarah Condon and Jay Curlis.
Other activities that students will enjoy during homecoming week are a door decorating contest, hat day, a 1950s day, and a pep rally.
Advance sale tickets cost $15. Tickets at the door will cost $20.
