SIDNEY — The Sidney Rotary Club has announced that March 8 is the deadline for graduating seniors enrolled in high schools in Shelby County to apply for a Rotary scholarship.

Four, $1,000 awards will be made in 2019. One scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to attend a trade school. The other three will go to students planning to attend four-year colleges.

Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, involvement in the community and at school, leadership and academics.

Applicants must return a form — available by emailing [email protected] — an essay, school transcripts and a letter of recommendation by an educator by March 8.

Finalists will be notified during the week of March 21 and will be interviewed by the Rotary Scholalrship Committee, April 17. Scholarship winners will be notified by April 26 that they have won the grants.
