COLUMBUS — Edison State Community College in Piqua was named the recipient of the Career Preparedness Award during the ACT State Award Ceremony, Jan. 26, in Columbus.

The award ceremony concluded the fourth annual ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign, which celebrates exemplary employers, community colleges, high schools and high school seniors who promote readiness for college and career in states across the country.

Edison State’s selection was based upon student success indicators, including retention, graduation and four-year college transfer rates; the strength of relationships with local employers and high schools; accessibility of career readiness assessments and preparation programs; and a support structure in place for students, especially those from underserved populations.
