Lehman students excel at adjudicated event

SIDNEY — Music students from Lehman Catholic High School participated recently at the Ohio Music Education Association District 11 Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event held at Milton Union High School.

Students from 32 high schools in a five-county area were part of the event. Students who participate choose music from a required list divided into three levels of difficulty, with Class A being the most difficult. Ratings and constructive comments are given by qualified music adjudicators, based on a five-level scale, with “I” (Superior) being the highest rating.

Lehman brought home six Superior (I) ratings and seven Excellent (II) ratings for their efforts.

Students from Lehman receiving Superior (I) ratings in Class A (the most difficult music) were Jerry He for a piano solo and Natalie Rocke for a cello solo. Superiors in Class B were earned for vocal solos by Sarah Gibson (soprano) and David Potts (tenor). In Class C, Miriam Bezy and Natalie Rocke received Superiors for piano solos.

Receiving an Excellent (II) rating in Class A was Elias Bezy for a piano solo. In Class B, an Excellent rating was earned by Emily Reinhart for a clarinet solo. Vocal soloists Conor O’Leary (baritone), Natalie Rocke (alto), and Tessa Brown (soprano) also received Excellent ratings in Class B. In Class C, Aidan Snyder received an Excellent rating for a trumpet solo. Also receiving an Excellent rating in Class C was the Brass Trio (C.J.Trahey, Alex Wiseman, and Aidan Snyder).
