SIDNEY— Eighth-grade students and their parents are invited to attend the 2016 “Jacket Pride” freshman orientation program on Thursday, Feb. 25, 201,6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sidney High School auditorium. The evening will be an opportunity for students and parents obtain an overview of the many aspects of Sidney High School.

The evening will be broken into two group sessions. First, everyone will convene in the auditorium where introductions will be made and overall administrative and guidance services will be discussed. Then, students and parents will have the opportunity to obtain information about SHS academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities by exploring different displays in the gymnasium. Administrators, counselors, teachers, advisers, coaches and students will be available to share information concerning the various classes, clubs, groups and sports; refreshments will be provided by the SHS FCCLA and FFA Chapters.

The informal, open format of the orientation will provide the opportunity for you to gain knowledge and ask questions of the participants. All current eighth grad students and their parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and to talk with as many of the representatives as possible during the evening.

“This has been an exciting year for Sidney High School! The academic and athletic achievements of our student throughout the fall and winter seasons have been nothing short of amazing,” says Sidney High School Principal Jon Geuy. “Our eighth-grade class will enter high school during a very special time! We hope the evening’s program will provide the foundation for a positive high school experience for your child. We look forward to seeing you at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25!”

This evening is open to any eighth-grade student interested in attending Sidney High School; current enrollment in Sidney City Schools is not required.
