PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center is now accepting preschool applications for the 2016-17 school year. The Career Center’s Early Childhood Education and Care program operates the state-licensed preschool for children ages 18 months through 5 years old under the direction of two vocational teachers and a program coordinator.

The preschool is licensed by the Department of Education and aligns with the State of Ohio’s Early Learning Standards. ECEC students gain experience working with young children by planning and implementing the preschool curriculum.

Preschool classes for toddlers 18 months through age 3 are offered Tuesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at a cost of $180 for the year. Classes for three- and four-year-olds are Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. for $360. Four- and five-year-olds attend Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 12:10 to 2:30 p.m. for $540. There is a $20 registration fee to hold a child’s place in class.
