Appreciating the little things

JACKSON CENTER — Ever since March 12th, 2020 when I heard about school being shut down I knew that my senior year was not going to be the same. Not only was school taken away, but also the rest of my cheerleading season as well.

At first, I was sad and angry and I did not know what was to come of the rest of the year. Today, April 20, 2020, it was announced that school will be closed for the rest of the year. This was a rough announcement, because I realized I may never step foot into Jackson Center High school as a student again.

As time passes, I start to become more thankful for what I do have. I still have family, friends, and, though it will not be a normal graduation, the goal is still to graduate. A lot has been taken away from the class of 2020, but there were also things gained from this experience. I, for one, became more appreciative of the little things and learned that life does not always go as planned.

I still have a future to look forward to, whatever it brings, and I still have plans and goals to be accomplished.

This picture is important to me because it was the last game of our high school career, and we did not even know it would be the last.
