Never take anything for granted

When senior year came to an end sooner than expected due to COVID-19 it was shocking.

I realized that I may not finish senior year with my classmates and we couldn’t do any of the traditional end of the year senior activities. With high school coming to an end all I wanted was to be able to have proper goodbyes with not just my fellow classmates, but the school itself.

We were all looking forward to going to our senior prom, having our last season of spring sports, our senior cookout, and our clap out before we graduate. Our last year of high school may have gotten cut short, but the memories we did make will always be special. We made the best of it while we could with so many memories including having our final first day of school, our last football and basketball season, and many other activities we did with each other. All these things are moments we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

I didn’t truly understand how much I enjoyed going to school and school functions until it was taken away. What I have learned from this is to never take anything for granted and to cherish every moment while you can.
