Edison Foundation gives funds

PIQUA — The Edison Foundation recently presented Edison Community College with a check for $99,343 to support student scholarships.

Supporting nearly 100 students with scholarships each year, the foundation has been able to increase its scholarship support to Edison Community College by 6 percent annually for the last two years. These scholarships are administered by the Edison Foundation and are typically bestowed or endowed by individuals, corporate partners and civic organizations.

“For many students, these scholarships bridge a gap to college attendance and achievement that would otherwise remain unattainable,” said Kim Horton, executive director of the Edison Foundation. “Whether for one semester, one year or the duration of a student’s successful pursuit of a degree, every dollar invested in a local student is money invested locally to help train and prepare a skilled workforce.”
