Ellery Mathis was one of 30 students in grades 3-8 that participated in the Lima News Regional Spelling Bee that was recently held at UNOH. Ellery, a student at Fairlawn Middle School, was named runner-up in the spelling bee. Ellery is the daughter of Lisa and David Mathis. Other Shelby County participants included Robert Cisco-Homan, Anna, Michael Huelskamp, Fairlawn, Heidi Jenkins, Hardin-Houston, Abby Knasel, Fort Loramie, Hailey Meyer, Fort Loramie, Roslin Ruppert, Botkins, Preston Serr, Jackson Center, Simon Voisard, Russia, and Kayley Wood, Anna.
