Fairlawn prom promises ‘Gold Gone Wild’

SIDNEY — Fairlawn Local Schools is peparing their 2022 prom, “Gold Gone Wild,” a theme that was inspired by a night of class and riches. The festivities will be held at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in the beige building on May 7.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and Vic’s Country Cooking will provide a catered dinner at 6:30 p.m. Music and dancing to follow by D.J. John Newcomb. A ceremony of crowning the 2022 king and queen will be held at 8 p.m.

The junior parents will be hosting an after prom party at Fairlawn, that will include games and prizes for all Fairlawn juniors and seniors in attendance. After prom will be a lock in. Doors will be locked from midnight to 3 a.m. Students must be present the entire time to be eligible for prizes.

The queen candidates for this year’s golden prom are Jessie Abke, daughter of Chris and Hope Abke, Lonna Heath, daughter of Scott and Molly Heath, Claire Henman daughter of Mitch and Lorri Henman and Abigail Swearingen, daughter of Brent and Libby Swearingen.

The king candidates are Dominic Davis, son of Dennis and Jackie Davis, Blake Greiwe, son of Jeromy and Season Greiwe, Matthew Mullen, son of Dan and Dianna Mullen, and Gauge Sharrock son of Vonda Rodeheffer and Dan Sharrock.

Catherine Cardo and Samuel Walls were the 2021 queen and king. They will be returning for the crowning ceremony.
