Russia welcomes new K-12 principal

RUSSIA — Monday night, the Russia Board of Education unanimously voted to hire Brian Hogan as Russia’s new K-12 Principal.

Hogan comes to Russia with a variety of experiences including 10 years of teaching social studies at the middle school and high school levels. He is a graduate of Urbana University and earned a masters degree in educational leadership from The University of Dayton. He has held numerous leadership positions within Bellefontaine City Schools and has coached numerous extra-curricular activities including: Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the past six years, junior high football, and track.

Hogan plans to move to Russia district as soon as possible with his wife Lindsay who is a kindergarten teacher at Bellefontaine and his two daughters Alexis and Devyn.

Current Russia Principal Karen Bensman announced her retirement in March after 30 years with the district.
