SIDNEY — The June 1 application deadline is approaching for several scholarships administered by the Community Foundation of Shelby County.

Many scholarships require that students have surpassed college freshman status, but some allow 2016 high school graduates to apply. The scholarship application is available online at www.commfoun.com. Click on “online application” in the Scholarships area at the lower left part of the home page.

The online form will ask questions about residency and major and will present to the applicant any pertinent scholarships. Students must provide up to three letters of recommendation and scanned copies of an unofficial transcript and the FAFSA Student Aid Report.

Scholarships are available for Fairlawn alumni and district residents, students with various medical or health majors and those with majors in performing arts, visual arts or creative writing. A separate application is available for students about to enter their third year of law school.
