Hausfeld wins scholarships

FORT LORAMIE — Riley Hausfeld, a senior at Fort Loramie High School, has been awarded a $1,200 college scholarship by the Fort Loramie Branch of Osgood State Bank and a $1,000 scholarship by Universal 1 Credit Union.

Hausfel, son of Ron and Amy Hausfeld, of Fort Loramie, plans to attend Bowling Green State University to math education.

During high school, Hausfeld was a member of the Fort Loramie Post No. 355 Boy Scouts and attained Eagle Scout status; has donated his time with numerous projects for the Minster Journeyman Club, and is a blood donor to the Community Blood Center. He was a school math and band tutor and a tutor for the Mathletes Team. He was a member of the football and track teams and the bowling club, where he earned the Redskin Award his senior year. Hausfeld was also a member of the band and the Science Olympiad team.

In the community, Hausfeld has volunteered his time at the Liberty Days Festival, as well as Minster Octoberfest. He has served at St. Michael Catholic Church as a mass server and eucharistic minister.
