Lehman recognizes music students

PIQUA — The Lehman Catholic High School Music Department held its annual awards banquet recently at the Knights of St. John Hall in Piqua. Trays of cold cuts were provided by the Piqua Knights of St. John and each family brought a covered dish. Following the meal, Music Director Betsy Moorman presented awards.

Outstanding Musicianship Awards were presented to students in each class. Chosen Outstanding Senior Musician was Emily Reinhart, daughter of Keith and Anna Lisa Reinhart, of Sidney. The Outstanding Junior Musician was Will Hoersten, son of Pat and Jennifer Hoersten, of Sidney. Chosen Outstanding Sophomore Musician was Natalie Rocke, daughter of Scott and Michele Rocke, of Troy. The Outstanding Freshman Musician was Sara Gibson, daughter of Joseph and Sonia Gibson, of Tipp City.

Receiving the Outstanding Band award was senior Emma Simpson, daughter of Tisha Huth, of Troy, and Frederick Simpson, of Sidney. The Outstanding Lehman Limelighter was senior Claudia Fatone, daughter of Andy and Amy Fatone, of Sidney. The Outstanding Cavalier Choir member was freshman Lauren Riley, daughter of David and Jackie Rile,y of Sidney.

Seniors recognized for their dedication to the Music Department through choral or instrumental activities, or both, were Malachi Bezy, Kendal Eck, Claudia Fatone, Sara Fuller, Janelle Gravunder, Cassidy Hemm, Kassie Lee, Clayton Malone, John Meyer, Nick Neumeier, Emily Reinhart, Emma Simpson, Adriana Sehlhorst, Connor Thobe, CJ Trahey, Adam Vanderhorst and Alex Wiseman.

Participation awards were also given to underclassmen in Band, Color Guard, Cavalier Choir, Limelighters, and Combo. Certificates were also awarded to those students who received superior (I) or excellent (II) ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event held in February.
